Meet Our HBS Summer Institute Faculty

Michelle Kaufman, PhD, MA, designs, implements, and evaluates technology-driven interventions to reduce health disparities and promote wellness among vulnerable populations.

Jill Owczarzak, PhD, MA, is a medical anthropologist who explores how cultural, social, and political forces shape health disparities.

Ryan Kennedy, PhD, is a behavioral scientist who works to advance tobacco control policies in the U.S. and around the world.

Anne Palmer, MAIA, builds the capacity of food policy councils to work on issues such as hunger, food environments, and racial equity to create healthy, equitable and sustainable food systems.

Katherine Clegg Smith, PhD, MA, is a sociologist who examines health experiences and health communication, with a research focus on cancer and chronic disease.
