Benita Bamgbade is a pharmacist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences. Broadly, her research aims to identify factors that influence the health and medication taking behaviors of older adults with psychiatric multimorbidity and chronic disease using quantitative “real world” observational data and qualitative direct patient engagement. Bamgbade's work aims to improve health outcomes among older adults with psychiatric multimorbidity by identifying useful targets for patient-centered interventions. Bamgbade also has an interest in health disparities as they relate to psychiatric multimorbidity. She received her PharmD degree from The University of Texas at Austin. After working in community pharmacy, she returned to The University of Texas and received her PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Health Outcomes and Pharmacy Practice Division
