Ray Tan is a practicing urologic cancer surgeon and health services researcher. He completed advanced training through a Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at UCLA. Building upon his strong background in comparative effectiveness and patient safety research, Tan now seeks to develop user-centered analytics for cancer care and implement them through health information technology (IT). His research draws from the fields of medical decision-making, clinical informatics, and implementation science and applied increasingly through mixed methods. His research findings have been featured in the Journal of Urology, Cancer, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
