Dr. Hoeft trained as a Health Economist and Health Services Researcher within a program in Population Health Sciences. Her graduate work focused on quantitative and mixed-methods research. Since graduate school she has developed skills in community-based participatory research and qualitative methods through work at a health care organization serving the Alaska Native population and with both rural and urban communities. Her research focuses on increasing access to mental health care and the intersection of health care services and social services in the community to meet the social and behavioral needs of complex and vulnerable patients. Her current work involves co-leading a collaborative care implementation project with a mixed-methods evaluation, including a cost study of implementation costs and costs of care delivery. She also supports work on other collaborative care implementation studies and comparative effectiveness studies
