Tolbert Nyenswah, LLB, MPH, Custom Track

Tolbert Nyenswah, a Doctor of Public Health student in the Custom Track at the Bloomberg School, is an internationally recognized legal scholar and a global public health expert, who specializes in public health emergency preparedness and response. Tolbert has been engaged with several public health emergencies, including, Ebola, Lassa Fever, Zika, Meningitis and currently the COVID-19 response, and has been internationally recognized as a public health leader in Liberia’s successful response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

Jaimie Shaff, MPH, Health Equity & Social Justice Concentration

Jaimie Shaff, a Doctor of Public Health student in the Health, Equity, and Social Justice Track at the Bloomberg School, leads a team of data scientists who are crunching COVID-19 numbers for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Using data from New York City surveys, the Census Bureau, death reports, location services from phones and other devices, and other sources, they have helped the city shift its thinking on how to battle the pandemic. Jaimie subsequently received the NYC [x] Tech and Innovation Mayoral Priority Award for this work.
