About The Global Health Systems Summer Institute

May 28–August 2, 2024

The Global Health Systems Summer Institute provides early- and mid-career public health professionals with cutting-edge skills in a variety of global health topics. The Institute is also a great opportunity for part-time MPH and other Hopkins students and fellows to learn a valuable set of skills in an in-demand and rapidly growing field of public health.

Choose from a variety of short-term courses in a variety of global health areas. Take as many courses as you'd like. The Global Health Systems Summer Institute will offer scholarships for participants taking the courses not-for-credit.

    Global Skills

    This Institute is ideal for those interested in global health. Participants will develop the skills necessary to assess and improve a wide range of public health systems. Course work focuses on low- and middle-income countries, but the skills are universal.

    Scholarships

    The Global Health Systems Summer Institute is pleased to be able to offer a scholarship of $437 per credit to all participants who take courses not-for-credit in our Summer Institute. This scholarship will only apply to courses in the Global Health Systems Summer Institute and it will only apply for non-credit participants. Please contact our Summer Institute Coordinator, Melissa Reed at melissar@jhu.edu if you have questions about the non-credit Summer Institute scholarship.

    In addition to these partial scholarships, we are also providing full scholarships for not-for-credit participants on a select, case-by-case basis. Eligible participants who wish to qualify for a full scholarship must fulfill all of the following criteria: be from a low- or middle-income country, be currently residing in a low- or middle-income country, have worked in public health in these settings, and currently work for an organization unable to to cover the costs of  participation or are currently unemployed.
