Curriculum

Please contact Ayesha Khan , 410-955-7158 or epi_methods@jhu.edu, for more information.

The Specialization curriculum covers three critical professional competencies: health situation analysis and assessment; public health/epidemiological surveillance; and health promotion (developing healthy people-healthy spaces).

Designed for the working professional, the program’s coursework is completed as professional education, not for academic credit. Registration for the Specialization courses is for non-credit, courses will be graded as Pass/Fail,  and regular attendance and completion of all coursework are required. To earn the Department of Epidemiology completion award, students must actively participate in courses and complete all required readings and assignments. A grade of Pass (P) must be obtained in all courses. Completion of the entire series is required to receive the Training Program award.

The specialization program requires completion of six courses comprised of required core courses and essential elective courses.  Sample Specialization Schedule
