Information for Employers

Bloomberg School graduates are among the top public health professionals in the world. The Career Services Office looks forward to working with you to develop a recruitment strategy that meets your organization's needs. Please contact Caroline Heaney CarolineHeaney@jhu.edu to get started.

Here are some of the ways employers and recruiters can engage with Bloomberg School students and alumni:

Post Jobs and Internships

Advertise jobs, internships, and fellowships to students and alumni at no cost on Handshake, a career services system used across all nine academic divisions at Johns Hopkins University. Handshake is our online one-stop-shop for recruiting. For help, please visit the Handshake Employer Site

Host a Virtual Information Session

Market your company and job opportunities to students by hosting a virtual information session. Information Sessions are typically an hour-long. The Career Services Office can host the Zoom meeting and send targeted emails to promote your event.

Host a Virtual Career Trek

Host a group of JHSPH students virtually for an informational visit. This unique opportunity would provide students insight into your culture, mission, and vision. In the past, treks have included a virtual tour of the office, employer presentations, panel discussions, meetings with executives, or Q&A sessions. The Career Services Office can host the Zoom meeting and send targeted emails to promote your event.

Host a Virtual Public Health Exchange (PHX) Session

Connect with students interested in learning more about your organization through short, individual meetings. Rather than a recruiting event, the PHX Sessions are a way to build your brand and provide students the opportunity to meet with a professional in their field of interest in a less formal, informational interview setting (similar to coffee and chat sessions). PHX Sessions can also tailored to a specific audience or department within the School. The Career Services Office can host the Zoom meeting (including virtual breakout rooms for conversations) and send targeted emails to promote your event.

Host a Virtual "TED" Style Talk

Have an alum or employee give a talk about a specific subject matter, pertinent to your organization. These talks are usually one-hour and include time for Q&A. The Career Services Office can host the Zoom meeting and send targeted emails to promote your event.

Resume Books

Create Resume Books in Handshake for your organization or industry group relevant to your organization. The Career Services Office can setup your virtual book and send resumes once submitted.

Register for the Public Health Career Fair

Network with students and alumni at our annual Public Health Career Fair, which is held on the first Friday of March each year. You’ll connect with top-tier graduate students, postdocs, and alumni from several degree programs and fields of study. Get full details on pricing, registration, and logistics here.
