Application Fee Waiver Requirements

Application fee waivers are available for applicants to EHE graduate programs who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States and meet additional eligibility criteria. Prospective students who do not meet eligibility criteria in these categories may request an application fee waiver with justification. 

Deadlines

Fee waivers for doctoral programs to the Bloomberg School of Public Health must be requested by Nov. 15, 2023. Email Hopkins_EHE@jhu.edu, to request a waiver. Use the subject line “SOPHAS Fee  Waiver for EHE".

Fee waivers for master's applicants to the Bloomberg School of Public Health must be requested by May 1, 2024. Email Hopkins_EHE@jhu.edu, to request a waiver. Use the subject line “SOPHAS Fee  Waiver for EHE".

Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative applicants for the PhD in Environmental Health must request the fee waiver by Nov. 15, 2023.

Vivien Thomas Scholars Initiative applicants for the PhD in Geography and Environmental Engineering are automatically vetted for eligibility for the VTSI fee waiver during the application process.

Please note: Fee waivers must be issued before submitting your application. We cannot issue reimbursements for the application fee.

  • Documented financial hardship  - or - 
  • Participation in one of the following:
    • Attendance at Annual Biomedical Research Conferences for Minority Students (ABRCMS)
