Application Fee Waiver Information
Eligibility
Application Fee Waivers are available for applicants to MMI graduate programs (PhD, ScM, MHS) who:
- Are U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and meet additional eligibility criteria (see below).
Prospective MMI students who do not meet the above criteria may still request an application fee waiver by providing a justification.
How to Apply for an Application Fee Waiver
- E-mail Professor Alan Scott with your request at ascott5@jhu.edu
- Include “SOPHAS Fee Waiver" in the subject line of your email.
Deadlines by Program for the Application Fee Waiver
- PhD applicants: Request must be submitted by November 15, 2024.
- MHS and ScM applicants: Request must be submitted by May 1, 2025.
Important: Application Fee Waivers must be issued before submitting your application. Reimbursements cannot be provided under any circumstances.
Applicants are Eligible for an Application Fee Waiver for one of these reasons:
- Documented financial hardship - OR -
- Attendance at a VTSI-eligible undergraduate institution (review list of eligible MSIs here)
- Application to an eligible VTSI PhD program (review list of eligible VTSI PhD programs here)
Participation in one of the programs or organizations below:
