People

We hope you will have an opportunity to get to know our diverse, interdisciplinary group of scholars, students, and staff—from social scientists and health economists to legal scholars, policy analysts, management scientists and ethicists— and consider joining our community.

Many alumni maintain an active role—serving as preceptors for our masters programs, teaching in our institutes, mentoring current students, participating in special events, and working hand in hand with our faculty.

Distinguished Policy Scholar

Mark Rosekind, PhD, Former Administrator of The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

The Distinguished Policy Scholar program was created to bring national policy leaders to campus to collaborate with faculty and students on pressing public health challenges. During a year-long residence, the Distinguished Policy Scholar takes part in wide-ranging research, education, and public health practice activities in partnership with faculty.

We are pleased to announce Mark Rosekind, PhD, as the newest Distinguished Policy Scholar. Rosekind was the fifteenth administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation and a world renowned expert in transportation safety. As a Distinguished Policy Scholar, Rosekind’s work will focus on transportation safety and policy, technology, driver performance, and public health.
