Zeger Named Inaugural Hurley-Dorrier Professor In Biostatistics

On May 17, 2005, Scott L. Zeger, PhD, was installed as the inaugural Frank Hurley and Catharine Dorrier Professor in Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Zeger is professor and chair of the Department of Biostatistics at the Bloomberg School and acting director for the Biostatistics Consulting Center.

Defining a Standard of Care in Research Debated (web article)

For years, researchers have debated how to define the standard of medical care that should be provided to research subjects during a study, especially in developing countries where the best methods of medical care are not available to the population at large. The debate intensifies when wealthy countries sponsor such studies in developing countries.

The Bloomberg School requires all media guests–including print and electronic reporters, photographers, producers, and videographers–to coordinate with a Bloomberg School media representative in advance of their visit, ideally with 48-hours notice. This applies to all School-affiliated buildings, offices, and facilities. 

Bloomberg School media guests will be accompanied by a communications staff member throughout their entire visit.
