In this panel presentation by PFRH faculty, Drs. Mmari, Gross, and Hager will share their research into strategies to promote food security in Maryland, including strategies for youth and families (with a focus on adolescents), community-level efforts, and policy strategies. Brief presentations will be followed by a structured discussion on future directions.

Kristin Mmari, DrPH, MA, assesses contextual factors and interventions influencing adolescent health in vulnerable adolescent populations, domestically and internationally.

Erin Hager

Erin R. Hager, PhD

Associate Professor

Erin Hager is a nutritional epidemiologist who works to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and food security for children where they live (homes), work (schools), and play (communities).

Susan Gross

Susan Gross, PhD

Associate Practice Professor

Susan Gross, PhD ’96, MPH, is a specialist in maternal and child nutrition, breastfeeding and is dedicated to research related to WIC.
