What's next for COVID vaccines—and why do we need more? The bottom line: the more vaccines we have that people are willing to take, the better off we're going to be.

The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, showed that early outpatient treatment using high-titer COVID convalescent plasma reduced the need for hospitalization by more than half.

In most households where both children and adults had antibody evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, children ages 0-4 years had the highest levels of SARS-CoV-2 RBD and neutralizing antibodies of all infected household members.    

Even as BA.2 and “deltacron” set off feelings of panic or exhaustion, vaccinations and boosters continue to provide the best protection.

The study findings underscore the importance of prioritizing worker safety and well-being in health departments and in public health systems, especially in times of crisis and discord.
