The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions Inaugural Pre-Doctoral Student Award

This inaugural award was established in 2023 to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the merged Center for Gun Violence Solutions. This award is intended to support outstanding doctoral students at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health who are committed to studying gun violence and its solutions.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be full-time students in good academic standing who are enrolled in a doctoral program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Students are not required to have completed their preliminary oral exams.

Application Procedure:

Applicants should submit the following items:

  1. Cover page (name, department, degree program, year in program, oral exam status, the title of proposal/dissertation (or anticipated topic), and advisor’s name)
  2. 1-page personal statement about your interest and experience in gun violence prevention, research, and/or advocacy and how you anticipate using the funds (stipend, research, etc.) (1-inch margins, 12-pont Times New Roman font)
  3. CV
  4. Current transcript (unofficial is okay)

Application Due Date: March 15, 2023. Recipients will be announced as part of the Center’s 1st anniversary on March 31, 2023.
