About the Event
Hosted by the Department of Epidemiology, Center for Public Health and Human Rights, this event will explore the public health implications of criminalization. Our panelists will focus on three topic areas that are illustrative among the many forms of criminalization that undermine health and human rights: human trafficking, HIV control efforts among sexual minorities, and the U.S. overdose crisis. The discussion will highlight how these policies often exacerbate health risks for already marginalized communities.
