About the Event

The R3 Center for Innovation in Science Education (R3ISE) is hosting an international symposium on two half-days, October 23-24, 2024, (9am-12:30pm, and 9am-12pm, respectively), in a virtual format to accommodate our global audiences. Learn about the experiences of the practitioners across our national and international R3ISE network, explore innovative approaches to advanced training in the 3R's in graduate science programs across disciplines, and hear from our selected student presenters and panelists.

Meet our Symposium Organizers

Gundula Bosch, PhD, MS, MEd

Director & Founder, R3ISE
Research Professor, MMI Department

In her function as the Director of the R³ Center for Innovation in Science Education (R³ISE) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Bosch developed and leads the R³ Graduate Science Programs that stand for “the three R’s” of good scientific practice: Rigor in research conduct, Reproducibility of results, and Responsibility of scientists to society.  

Ilinca Ciubotariu, PhD, MHS

Assistant Director, R3ISE
Assistant Scientist, MMI Department

Dr. Ciubotariu is an infectious disease scientist by training and brings great expertise in the topics of malaria and SARS-CoV-2. She is the recipient of numerous accolades for her research, and has published over 20 articles to date ranging from peer-reviewed research works, preprints, openly shared protocols, perspective pieces, and more. She is a strong proponent of the mission of R3 and a passionate educator, teaching multiple courses across the program.
