Professor Zulfiqar (Zulfi) Bhutta, the 2021 Roux Prize and 2022 Gairdner Global Health Award laureate, will share his views on global progress for maternal and child health in recent years, especially the post SDG period. The presentation will focus on determinants and drivers of change, and opportunities for action in the wake of recent complex crises and outline a way forward for addressing health and development across the life course.
Professor Bhutta is the Distinguished University Professor and Founding Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development and the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University. He also holds the Robert Harding Inaugural Chair in Global Child Health at the Hospital for Sick Children.
