Do you want to know more about how to evaluate science for your work in maternal, neonatal or reproductive health? Do you want to know how to understand inferences from science to use in your work?
Discusses sources of data and methodological approaches used in studies of maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health. Critically evaluate scientific literature in the field and the inferences that can be made from this literature. Evaluates selected research articles in maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health in global and domestic settings. Discusses policy and program implications as well.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Identify the usefulness and limitations of various data sources for studying maternal, neonatal and reproductive health
  2. Use the analytic and conceptual basis of various methodological approaches for studying pregnancy, maternal, newborn, and reproductive health as a guide to evaluating research
  3. Critically evaluate studies related to maternal, newborn and reproductive health and identify valid inferences from the studies and their implications for policies and programs
