MMI Professor Andy Pekosz Among Four JHU Experts To Participate in Congressional Briefing Tuesday, May 14

Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology Professor and Andrew Pekosz is among four Johns Hopkins experts who will discuss the latest on the avian influenza outbreak as well as how avian flu is detected and transmitted, how experts are globally tracking the virus and the number of infections, updates on vaccine developments, and the danger of other emerging biothreats. 

The following Johns Hopkins experts are also scheduled to speak:

  • Meghan Davis, associate professor, Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, Bloomberg School of Public Health
  • Peter Thielen, senior staff scientist, research and exploratory development, Applied Physics Laboratory
  • Lainie Rutkow, executive vice provost, Johns Hopkins University (moderator)
