Carol Eliasberg Martin Scholarship

This fund was established in 1998 by the Eliasberg Family Foundation in memory of Carol Eliasberg Martin, MHS ’82 who died in 1997 after a long battle with cancer. This fund provides annual support to an outstanding student or postdoctoral fellow whose work holds promise for preventing cancers that affect women, with a focus on breast and ovarian cancer.

Eligibility
Any student or postdoctoral fellow at the school is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Because of the complexity of cancer prevention efforts, the awardee's work may be multi-disciplinary and thus span several departments or scientific approaches.

Student submits application materials to Jennifer Moessbauer at jmoessbauer@jhu.edu: 1.) CV 2.) 2 letters of recommendations (1 may be adviser) 3.) JHSPH transcript 4.) Essay answering specifically: Paragraph and nomination letter must explicitly address commitment to cancer prevention.

The essay (2 pages, double spaced) about the research should address the:
1. research hypothesis or goal with objectives and design
2. Innovation or novelty
3. public health relevance
