Overview

Dr. René Najera is a distinguished public health professional currently serving as the Director of Public Health at a non-profit organization in Philadelphia. With a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Public Health degree, Dr. Najera brings extensive expertise in epidemiology, infectious diseases, and biostatistics. He has a robust background in disease surveillance and vaccines, reflected in his role as the editor of the History of Vaccines project at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia to ensure accurate and accessible information. Dr. Najera is also an educator, teaching Epidemiological Applications of GIS, and a seasoned public speaker proficient in both English and Spanish. His research interests include vaccine-preventable diseases, public health informatics, and debunking vaccine misinformation. Dr. Najera’s dedication to public health is complemented by his skills in coding and statistical analysis. He is also a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the oldest medical society in the United States.
