Overview
Zoé Hendrickson (she/her) is a social scientist whose research centers on how social structures are implicated in everyday experiences of health and how people seek care. With a focus on sexual and reproductive health in an increasingly mobile, globalized world, her research investigates relationships between geographic mobility, gender inequity, and other social determinants of health and the implications these may have on reproductive decision-making, family planning practices, and healthcare seeking. She is committed to using research to inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that are novel, theoretically informed, and address the social structures and inequalities that influence people’s daily lives. Therefore, she draws on social theory to think critically about public health research and how best to design thoughtful and sustainable public health programs.
She currently serves as the principal investigator for multiple quantitative and qualitative research projects at the Center for Communication Programs, including formative research, monitoring, and evaluation for social and behavior change programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
