Experiences & Accomplishments
Dr. Meyer is Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and an Assistant Scientist in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her primary research interests include health systems as they relate to global health security, disaster and pandemic nursing, workforce development and training, and domestic and international outbreak response.
Dr. Meyer completed her PhD at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she studied the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on health service utilization in Baltimore, MD, and was the recipient of a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral National Research Service Award. In 2016, she received an MPH with a concentration in infectious diseases from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She earned a BA in biology from Carroll College and a BSN from Georgetown University. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked as a burn and trauma intensive care nurse at a level 1 trauma center in Washington, DC.
