Overview

Alice L Sternberg, faculty member since 2009, has over 35 years of experience in coordination of multicenter clinical trials. Her roles have included coordinator, manager, programmer, analyst, editor, author, designer, advisor and investigator in treatment trials of lung disease (Childhood Asthma Management Program, National Emphysema Treatment Trial, Long-term Oxygen Treatment Trial), eye disease (Glaucoma Laser Trial, Studies of Ocular Complications of AIDS), digestive disease (Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis Clinical Research Network, Gastroparesis Clinical Research Consortium), and fall prevention in the elderly (Study to Understand Fall Prevention and Vitamin D in You). She began her career at the School in 1983 as an analyst for the Nuclear Shipyard Workers Study, an investigation of the effects of occupational exposure to ionizing radiation in a cohort of over 70,000 workers.
