This talk will discuss the role of addressing environmental exposures to improve people’s health and advance environmental justice with a focus on communities that are affected by hazardous metal exposures from abandoned mines in the Northern Plains and the Southwest. Different types of data, the synergistic impact of multi-disciplinary approaches and interventions, and the role of traditional knowledge and data sovereignty will be presented.
