The William H. Gates Sr. Institute for Population and Reproductive Health invites you to attend this Demographic Dividend Luminaries Series webinar about the ongoing population age structure changes taking place in Sub-Saharan Africa on Thursday, 18 January from 9-10 AM EST
This session will focus on the possibility of “the youth bulge” (a relatively large increase in the proportion of young people within a population), which can play a significant role in a country’s ability to harness the benefits of a “demographic dividend” (the boost in economic growth that can result from changes in a country’s population age structure).
Speakers will discuss data innovations that the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is leading to support the African region in attaining a demographic dividend. Additionally, participants will examine major concerns related to climate change and population in these contexts.
This event will include an interactive question and answer session, and will be hosted in English with live French interpretation.
