Are you looking for a way to make meaningful change in your community while completing your studies? Apply to be a SOURCE Service Scholar in 2023-2024! SOURCE is now accepting applications thru Mon, July 10, 2023. This program is open to students in all three health professional schools: BSPH, SON and SOM (M.D. students only) who will be enrolled throughout 2023-2024.
About the Program: SOURCE Service Scholars (SSS) presents a unique opportunity for students to make an impact by completing 150 hours of community-based practice at a Baltimore community-based organization (CBO) that is a SOURCE partner while receiving a $1,750 stipend. Projects have already been identified by community partners and aim to address urgent priorities for each participating organization.
These 150 hours of community-based public health practice can potentially count toward a practicum or capstone requirements for certain degree programs. Scholars will receive training and guidance from SOURCE staff covering service-learning theories and practices; project management; volunteer recruitment and management; and delivering/reporting on outcomes.
