Efficient public transit provides access to jobs, food, healthcare, physical activity, and helps to reduce pollution. Despite this, state-run public transit in Baltimore struggles to get people, particularly from lower-income and minority communities, to their destinations in a reasonable time. Many problems stem from historic inequities in transit access and transit policy, a chronic lack of data-driven and community-guided investment, and a perpetuating car culture.
During Black History Month, join us on February 24 for a live panel discussion with four transit advocates to learn more about a new vision for transit equity and the environment in Baltimore, and how you can get involved.
