February's Health Equity discussion will focus on the history and themes explored in the film, Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights Revolution. The film is an hour-long public television documentary that tells a poignant chapter in the historic struggle to secure equal and adequate access to healthcare for all Americans and how Medicare was used to coordinate efforts that desegregated thousands of hospitals across the country in a matter of months. The discussion will be led by our special guest, Dr. Karen Thomas.
