The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of the inclusion of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in country and regional preparedness, response and recovery plans. However, most countries responded with restrictive migration measures and a limited consideration for migrants’ health needs. A group of multi-disciplinary researchers from Mexico, Colombia and Perú, in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health and the Lancet Commission on Migration and Health, sought to explore how health systems have responded towards these mobile populations in three countries of Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic. This report launch and dialogue offer the opportunity to explore opportunities, challenges, promising practices and innovative solutions towards migrant and refugee inclusion and access to healthcare in Latin America during the pandemic.
