Cancer is now a major health concern globally in both developed and developing countries. Are you interested in learning about how we study cancer risk factors that contribute to cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality? This class will provide you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and discuss current literature in cancer epidemiology with faculty and your peers
Emphasizes the importance of reading, understanding, and discussing literature. Presents scientific papers from the current literature in cancer epidemiology (students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty). Provides students the opportunity to interact with faculty regularly. Reviews current topics and methodology in cancer epidemiology with current faculty, research leaders, and practitioners.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Critically evaluate scientific literature in cancer epidemiology.
- Practice leading the discussion of a scientific manuscript.
- Identify best practices for presenting thesis and dissertation research to students and faculty.
- Develop strategies for responding to comments and questions about thesis and dissertation research.
