Description
Introduces students to the research interests of faculty within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and is affiliated with the department's Cancer Biology Training Program. One or two 30-minute faculty presentations are scheduled for each session. All students are required to attend or review 13 of the 16 scheduled sessions.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Understand the research interests and scientific approaches of the training faculty
  2. Make informed decisions regarding laboratory rotations during the first year for doctoral students
  3. Investigate areas of potential interest for master's students considering the option of pursuing laboratory research toward the ScM degree during their second year
  4. Initiate a dialogue between students and faculty about various aspects of scientific research encompassed by the departmental training program

Sessions are virtual during campus closure. All faculty presentations are delivered via Zoom beginning at 12:00pm Wednesdays and Fridays. The Zoom links are provided for each week. All presentations are recorded and are available for review following each presentation. Students are encouraged to attend presentations in real-time if possible.
