Description
Provides students with experience in seven short exercises that explore a variety of aspects of cost-effectiveness analysis. Teaches how to link all the steps together to complete a full cost-effectiveness analysis from start to finish. Works in Microsoft Excel to setup a workbook that will allow them to complete a cost-effectiveness analysis, manipulate the results to explore multiple possible assumptions, and have the opportunity to share their work in a format that is easily accessible.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
  1. Perform the technical steps necessary to produce a cost-effectiveness analysis using Microsoft Excel that includes a base-case analysis and univariate sensitivity analysis and that can be shared with other users of Microsoft Excel
  2. Interpret the results
  3. Write up the results in a format that is useful for decision makers, noting the perspective, the assumptions, the results, and the policy implications

This course will be offered in person during the Winter Institute. Required readings will be posted and students are required to read the materials before the start of the class. Final assignments are due no later than February 2, 2024.
