This course is the culminating requirement of the Master in Health Sciences in Health Economics. Students will be required to complete a mentored research capstone and contribute to the writing and presentation of a scholarly article.
Produce a scholarly paper that provides a meaningful contribution to knowledge of the health economics. Affords the opportunity to work under the direction of a research mentor and presenting research results to a group of peers.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Integrate and apply the skills and competencies they have acquired to a public health/health economics problem
- Develop a concise and cohesive written document that defines a health economics problem or issue
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review and synthesize as appropriate for their selected topic or issue
- Present results of research in a scholarly paper
- Present the results of their research orally to peers
Methods of Assessment
This course is evaluated as follows:
- 20% Final Presentation
- 80% Scholarly research paper
