Teaches the research, policy, and practice activities of the faculty affiliated with the HPP Concentration as well as engages in professional development opportunities during this year-long seminar. Considers how policy is used to address leading public health problems, as well as individual student research interests and professional goals.
Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the faculty of Health and Public Policy and their research and practice interests
- Cite literature that pertains to HPP subject areas
- Discuss the literature and understand the relationships between health policy and other areas within public health
- Identify and develop skills that facilitate the translation of public health research into policy and practice
