Fun fact: “I am a risk assessor by day and a ballet teacher by night!”
Describe the work you do.
I work on risk assessment reports for clients such as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Our team of human health risk assessors carries out the four-step human health risk assessment process following EPA guidance. We write and prepare risk assessment reports to return to the client once risks and hazards have been evaluated.
How did your degree from EHE prepare you for your current career path?
My coursework in the Master of Science in Toxicology for Human Risk Assessment program covered the four-step risk assessment methodology that I follow every day at my job. The risk series in particular taught the components of the risk assessment process as well as how it is applied in real-world situations.
