Health in All Policies

Published

On Friday, May 10, the Institute for Health and Social Policy at the Department of Health Policy and Management in collaboration with SOPHIA and AcademyHealth led a first-of-its-kind convening, Health in All Policies: Innovative Tools to Integrate Health and Equity Into All Policymaking, at The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.

Health in All Policies (HiAP) is a collaborative approach that brings together experts and decision-makers from various sectors (e.g. transportation, housing, energy) to improve health outcomes. HiAP is grounded in the understanding that the conditions in which we live, work, learn, and play influence our well-being.

Attendees from around the country gathered to engage in dynamic discussions with experts, policymakers, agency staff, and academics. Maryland State Delegate Robbyn T. Lewis provided the keynote conversation and a number of policymakers and experts participated in a panel discussion and a series of lightning talks.
