Jonathan is a computational microbiology PhD student at a German University hospital where his research is focused on environmental stress responses of host-associated microbiota from various patient cohorts. Following the MHS program he received a scholarship from the Education Department of Sichuan Province, China, for an exchange program consisting of English teaching and public health research. At the conclusion of this program, Jonathan continued to do small-scale environmental and educational projects in Northern Vietnam.
Here's what he had to say about the Master of Health Science program:
"While the rigorous challenge that EHE provided was tough, my decision to attend the MHS program in EHE was one of the strongest and most uplifting decisions that I made. This master’s program allowed me to develop my interest at the intersection of the environment and human health to understand the environmental underpinnings of disease mechanisms at the epigenetic, cellular, organismal, population, and ecological levels. The opportunities and wealth of new tools that EHE provided have allowed me to confront scientific issues in the lab, clinic, field, and communities while remaining focused on my academic interests both locally and around the globe."
