Epidemiology Doctoral Student Selected to Join National Birth Equity Collaborative's Birth Equity Scholars Program

Sara Daniel, a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, has been selected to join the 2021-2023 cohort of the National Birth Equity Collaborative's Birth Equity Research Scholars Program. This program is designed to foster the development of thoughtful and compassionate leaders dedicated to optimizing the health and well-being of Black birthing populations through decolonized research and evaluation. Sara, a second year student, is interested in measurement and methods in social epidemiology and health disparities research. Specifically, her research interests include using an intersectional lens to measure state-level discrimination as it relates to sexual and reproductive health outcomes.
