CEIBS and Bloomberg School to Offer MBA/MPH Coordinated Program
The China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have teamed up to offer a coordinated degree program. The new program will give students from two world-class institutions an opportunity to pursue complementary studies in international business and public health. They will receive both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from CEIBS and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
“Health care is already of vital concern to Chinese citizens. The rapidly evolving Chinese health care system needs leaders and managers who understand how the state and private sectors can work together. Our partnership with Johns Hopkins will help develop these leaders,” explained CEIBS Dean and Vice President John Quelch.
“We’ve been educating public health leaders in the China and Asia Pacific regions for several decades, but this collaboration with CEIBS is an exciting opportunity for the Bloomberg School,” said Michael J. Klag, MD, MPH, dean of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. “Combining public health education with business education offers a unique opportunity to make public health an essential part of economic development in China’s growing economy."
As part of the program, students will spend a year at CEIBS’ Shanghai Campus and 11 months at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Students will earn both degrees in 23 months, which is six months less than would be required if each degree were sought separately. The program will be available by the 2013-2014 academic year.
