Bertrand Receives Marjorie C. Horn Operations Research Award (web article)

Jane Bertrand, PhD, MBA, director of the Center for Communication Programs and professor in the Bloomberg School’sDepartment of Health, Behavior and Society, is the recipient of the third annual Marjorie C. Horn Operations Research Award. Bertrand was recognized for her outstanding commitment, leadership and vision in promoting family planning and reproductive health programs through program research, and for her contributions to training the next generation of researchers.

The Marjorie C. Horn Operations Research Award is given by the Research, Technology and Utilization (RTU) Division of the Office of Population and Reproductive Health, Bureau for Global Health at USAID, for excellence in implementation of operations and program research and utilization of research results. Horn served as the deputy chief of RTU prior to her death in 2002. The award was established in her memory.
