With the support from the Center for Global Digital Health Innovation, six student groups at the Bloomberg School of Public Health have curated an exceptional lineup of 20+ speakers from leading organizations across the world.

About the Event:

The sessions focus on strides in digital health globally, with a focus on LMIC settings. Our panel discussions explore how digital health can be implemented at scale, professional development and career paths in the space, and provide an opportunity to engage with key leaders in digital health. 

These include an in-person keynote address by Marcelo D'Agostino, Unit Chief of Digital Health at PAHO and panel discussions with experts from UNICEF, PATH, USAID, Aga Khan University Hospital, Africa CDC, Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN), and RECAINSA.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

 

Marcelo D’Agostino

Unit Chief of the Information Systems and Digital Health at the Pan American Health Organization / WHO 


Marcelo D'Agostino has more than 30 years  of experience in the planning, design and delivery of innovative, evidence-based and cost-effective, high-performance solutions and programs in support of political, technical and worldwide leaders at the Pan American Health Organization, which is also the WHO office for Latin America. 

The main activities of the PAHO Digital Health center include: providing technical advice for the development of the Information Systems for Health Framework (IS4H), developing and delivering training courses on PAHO’s Virtual Campus for Public Health; providing training and technical advice on the delivery of telemedicine; and conducting research on the use of Information and Communications Technologies (TICS) for vulnerable populations. 

He has worked actively in the development of the Information Systems for Health (IS4H) Framework and toolkit, which outlines the strategic goals focused on data management and information technologies, management and governance, innovation and performance, and knowledge management, including developing conceptual models, knowledge capsules, factsheets, workshops, and assessment tools.
