We are thrilled to announce an upcoming highlight in our academic calendar – the Faces of Africa: Hopkins Public Health Conference, scheduled for April 25th-26th. This event, organized by the African Public Health Network (APHN) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, promises to be a groundbreaking gathering for all who are passionate about advancing public health in Africa.

Event Highlights:

Day 1 (April 25th) starts with a warm welcome and registration, followed by a networking breakfast where you can connect with fellow attendees. The day features a  Pitch Competition, where participants will present innovative ideas to improve financial health policies in Sierra Leone.

Day 2 (April 26th) opens with a compelling keynote presentation on health security and innovation within transitioning health systems in Africa by Dr. Ahmed E. Ogwell Ouma .  It also offers insightful panel discussions on Decolonizing Knowledge Systems and Health Systems Transitions and Innovative Health Financing. The day will also showcase the top entries from our photo contest and the launch of a pivotal book, "Stories of African Healthcare Transformation Initiative." The conference will close with a festive gala, complete with African music, snacks, drinks, and a DJ-curated playlist.
