Do you want to explore how our daily thoughts, feelings and actions influence our behaviors? Do you want to learn how to identify and reframe negative thoughts that are holding you back? Do you want to move forward in your academic, personal or professional life?
Draws content from positive psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness to teach the science and practice of building positive mental habits and fostering personal agency. Experiences a personal journey to understand where they are now, where they would like to be, and the mental tools to get there through a series of interactive sessions that review the scientific basis for these concepts as well as self-reflective exercises. Exposes students to several cognitive strategies and practical tools that can help them navigate daily challenges, increase positive emotions, decrease stress, and plan for the future.
Learning ObjectivesUpon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Recognize the scientific basis for interventions targeted to fostering personal agency
- Identify current global efforts to strengthen well-being and flourishing
- Explore core behavioral processes to enhance your own personal agency
- Develop a behavioral action plan, with both a ‘to do list’ and a ‘to be list’
