Research

The Johns Hopkins ALACRITY Center for Health and Longevity in Mental Illness uses cutting-edge transdisciplinary methods incorporating clinical and behavioral research, implementation science, human factors engineering, systems science, and health services research approaches to advance short- and long-term strategies to improve physical health and reduce premature mortality in the population with serious mental illness.  People with serious mental illness die an average of 10-20 years earlier than the overall population, primarily due to cardiovascular disease.
