Systems Science
Johns Hopkins ALACRITY Center investigators are using systems science approaches to model the impacts of scaling-up effective interventions to improve physical health in the population with serious mental illness.
ALACRITY Center researchers are creating systems models that can be used to estimate the effects of various interventions to improve physical health among people with serious mental illness on long-term public health outcomes, for example rates of tobacco smoking, mortality, and healthcare costs. The mathematical and computational modeling approaches used will allow Center researchers to test the effects of different policies and interventions on these outcomes over time. Model development takes place in collaboration with the Community Advisory Board to ensure results are the most relevant and impactful.
