Uganda

Partnering with Makerere University School of Public Health, we conducted a rapid assessment of emergency medical services in Kampala, Uganda using an innovative tool based on health systems frameworks.

Through our work – supported by the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health – we achieved the following outcomes:

• Developed a comprehensive and rapid pre-hospital assessment tool
• Pilot tested tool in Kampala, Uganda
• Findings led to “Munyonyo Resolution on Emergency Medical Services in Uganda”, and were instrumental in subsequent nationwide assessment of Ugandan pre-hospital care system
