Online Courses

We’ve developed two free online training programs launched in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). To date, nearly 3,000 people from more than 140 countries have enrolled and taken online classes and/or completed the program, thereby earning individualized certificates.

Road Safety Legislation

In partnership with the WHO, we’re offering a free online course to enhance expertise in road safety legislation. This self-paced course covers the development of evidence-based laws and regulations, along with real-world examples of legal approaches to road safety.

The course includes four multimedia educational modules, which cover:

  • Basic road safety facts
  • Importance of legislation in road safety
  • Evidence base for key road safety risk factor and post-crash care laws; factors to consider when prioritizing legislative changes
  • How to advocate for improvements, including how to engage media in these efforts

Road Traffic Injury Prevention

Consisting of six core multimedia modules and one advanced module, this comprehensive program covers a broad range of topics. It is free of charge and open to policymakers, researchers, educators, and anyone interested in road traffic injury prevention. Modules in this training include:

  • Module 1: Fundamentals of Road Traffic Injury (RTI)
  • Module 2: Concepts in Injury Prevention
  • Module 3: Risk Factors and Choosing Interventions for RTIs
  • Module 4: Injury Surveillance Systems
  • Module 5: Evaluation of Road Safety Interventions
  • Module 6: Influencing Policy for Road Traffic Injury Prevention
  • Optional Advanced Module: Assessing the Health and Economic Burden of RTIs
