The Vector Encounter is a two-day gathering to discuss the biology of disease vectors, hosted by the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. During this engaging get-together, investigators present their lab's latest vector research on a chalk board, rather than on PowerPoint slides. Presentations are limited to one investigator per laboratory, by the PI if at all possible or by a senior member otherwise. During a breakout session on Thursday afternoon, there will be an opportunity for non-PIs to present their research in small group formations.
